News- Android Developer Challenge 2

The second Android Developer Challenge has started.
Google are asking Android users to download the ADC2 app (it can be found in the Apps Market as Android Developer Challenge 2) and use it to start downloading, testiing and judging the competition entries.  The apps you trial are randomly assigned (presumably to ensure that all of the entries get a fair share of the testing).  The top 20 apps in each of the 10 categories at the end the first round of scoring will progress through to the second round.  The second round will then begin and Android users can continue to test and rate the remaining 200 apps.  These apps will also be judged by an official panel of Google-selected judges, with the Android users’ votes counting for 40% of the overall score of each app.  The 3 highest scoring apps across all the categories will also receive an additional award.
The categories for ADC2 are-

  • Education/Reference
  • Games: Casual/Puzzle
  • Games: Arcade/Action
  • Social Networking
