Golgo on the XDA Developers forum has announced that the official HTC Hero ROM update is available as of right now for Swedish users.  Great news for those who were holding off on rooting their phone and installing MoDaCo’s custom ROM to improve performance and solve a few niggly issues with the phone.  I guess we should expect to see the other nationalities receiving their version of the ROM soon.

Funnily enough, I’d emailed HTC this morning to see if I could get an ETA on the new ROM being released, at the time, I just assumed I was being fobbed off with a stock reply, but in light of the ROM starting to appear on the various regional update sites without fanfare, I wonder if it was a veiled clue..?

We do not have any confirmed release date for the Hero ROM upgrade, best advice at the moment is to keep yourself updated by visiting the website and keeping an eye open for updates for the Hero.

EDIT- And now the Norwegian and Danish ROMs are available too it seems.
