The Androidian site got their hands on one of the new Archos 5 Android tablets. They’ve posted up a pretty comprehensive review of the device. In summary-
The Good
- Excellent video playback
- Good feature set, with a number of very useful apps installed out of the box
- It’s Android!
The Bad -
- The reviewer seemed to find that the keyboard interface took a lot of getting used to
- The Archos 5 seems pretty tightly locked down, so rooting may be tricky if that’s a factor for you
The Ugly -
- Paying for video codecs to enable playback of some video formats (including hi-def formats) seems more than a little on the cheeky side considering you’ve just shelled out hundreds of pounds/dollars/euros on the kit.
