Acer to launch 6 Android devices in 2010

Acer have announced that they will be releasing 5 or 6 new Android smartphones in the first half of next year, with the possibility of more to come in the second half.  The plan is for there to be an Android mobile phone for each of the different pricing levels – low-end, mid, top-end and also devices aimed at business users.  Acer officials are so far being tight-lipped on further details on the specs and release dates of the new smartphones.
Acer’s Aymar de Lencquesaing, in a recent interview with Reuters, had this to say on the company’s plans for Android phones-

“Next year it will be much more balanced, there is definitely momentum behind Android. The pace is faster than most would have anticipated one year ago.”

The news comes soon after the company hinted that their first Android phone, the Acer Liquid, will soon start to go on sale at selected retailers in Europe, with an official announcement on this expected within the next month.
