ClonedInChina have gotten wind of plans by media player manufacturer OPPO to release an Android-based phone. The company have released a few phones over the past year or so, but this will be their first smartphone. There’s very little out there about this phone, other than that it has a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and is Wi-FI enabled. The phone will apparently use the side-lights (see image below) to notify it’s owner about things such as the weather and other data (presumably new emails, tweets and the like). This could be a pretty good looking phone if the leaked photos are anything to go by.
The phone is to be released at some point next year, so expect more information over the next few months.
