Hott unveil the Android powered MD500

This is the MD500, created by Chinese manufacturer, Hott. It’s running a customised version of Android and is seen displaying a 720p video in the clip. The tablet has an ARM9 Rockchip CPU, an 800 x 480 4.8″ screen and can allegedly play every codec (forgive our scepticism, but we’ll believe that when we see it). We like the minimalist hardware design, sort of like a cleaner, more iPad-esque version of the Archos 5. Best of all, with some reports claiming that this device will be available to distributors for just $92 (without any storage), this could be one temptingly cheap tablet. Happily, this inexpensive tablet doesn’t look like a potential scam, unlike the Haleron iLet Mini, which we’re still bitter about.
