HTC Hero to receive Android 2.1 update on 26th April in Taiwan

A very brief post, but it’s big enough news that I think it’s justified:- Engadget have been tipped off that HTC Hero owners in Taiwan will be receiving the Android 2.1 update on 26th April, according to an official message from HTC on social client Plurk. Presumably, the rest of us should start seeing the update trickling out shortly afterwards. It’s nice to at least have a date for the update, rather than just a vague “Q2 2010″. However, those folks who need a carrier-specific update will probably have to wait a good few weeks (at least) for their providers to stamp their mark all over Sense…
