The continuing saga of the Haleron iLet Mini HAL

24 March 2010 No Comment

Those of you who follow this site regularly will know that we ran a story a few weeks back detailing some doubts which were raised over the authenticity of the Haleron iLet Mini HAL and the company in general. Things were not looking particularly convincing at that point, which was a shame as this looked like a great product at a dirt cheap price. However, some doubts have now been cast on the er…doubts. There are a few sites reporting that the devices have now started shipping. Liliputing have posted an article with further details. Checking the Haleron site, they do at least have some new images of the device (see below), something they didn’t have before, and something we here at This Android Life emailed to request whilst trying to verify the company (a request which was ignored, where other, easier to answer email requests were dealt with within 24 hours).

Now, a little message on the company’s own website stating that they are shipping isn’t exactly conclusive proof that this is the case. But, we do genuinely hope it is. We loved the idea of the iLet Mini HAL when it was first announced, particularly at the prices quoted, so we’d love this to be genuine. Perhaps the reason Haleron look so dodgy is because they are merely selling another manufacturer’s units rebranded as their own?
As soon as we know for certain either way, we’ll let you know. Watch this space.

If you have received a unit from Haleron, please get in touch.
