The folks at tenCube, the creators of WaveSecure, have generously offered up 20 1-year subscriptions to the WaveSecure service, each worth $19.90. WaveSecure is a mobile security service application which was one of the overall winners of last year’s second Android Developers Challenge (ADC2).

Effortlessly back up data from your phone or remotely on the web. Crucial information such as contacts, messages, call logs as well as photos and videos can be stored securely on WaveSecure web site for protection.
Restore your data
Keep your data safe. With your data securely stored online, you can access your personal data anywhere with a web browser. In the event you lose or change phones, you can restore your data easily and quickly.
Lock and secure your phone
If your phone is stolen, you can lock your lost mobile remotely to make it worthless to the thief. Display a message on the device and sound the alarm to increase the chances of recovering your mobile phone.
Track and locate your mobile
Once WaveSecure detects a new SIM card in your phone, it will auto-lock your phone to prevent misuse. Your buddy will also be notified via SMS alert so you can contact the person who has found or stolen your phone. Additionally, you can track the current location of the phone.
Wipe your data
If you are unable to recover your lost phone, you can still protect your privacy. Trigger a remote wipe online to delete all private data on your phone, including your contacts, messages and photos.

This chance is pretty good. I was able to protect my phone for 7 days only which was great. Probably will buy the service if i can`t win probably a few months later.
That looks like a very interesting application, I am just curious to see how they can prevent a “thief” from disabling/uninstalling the application on the phone.

I have WaveSecure on my HTC Hero, and IMO it is an essential piece of kit.
My whole life is on my phone- logins, passwords, facebook, twitter, icq, msn, skype, photos….you name it. If someone gets their hands on your phone, at least you can rest safe in the knowledge that bricking the phone and erasing your data is only a few clicks away….

Hey I would love to carry on using Wave secure,i have a htc hero and it has saved my life a few times already, i left my phone at my university and the only reason i found it was because of wave secures location finder and phone lock i would love to use it for another ye ! =]

It bothers me every time I hear someone complain about how safe it is to share information with a service like WaveSecure. Honestly, a company into security has its reputation resting on its ability to keep your information safe.
If anything, your information is safer here than at facebook that everyone and their granny update with no concern while the guys at facebook actually earn a living by revealing your information!
Anyways, no one is forcing the user to back up their data. If you don’t trust the service with your data, go ahead and use only lock / locate / wipe and the SIM tracking – don’t do backup / restore.

Hello everyone
i am from India and i have been using this product since six months (which is free for Indian Nokia users and that too a limited version like we cannot track the phone or we cannot back up the data, only call logs, messages, contacts and events will be backed up) for my Nokia 5800 Express Music. I lost my previous phone and so my wife insisted me to get some antivirus like Wave Secure.
I would rate this product a 10/10 for the full version from the security point of view. I have tried changing sim card in my mobile and scared off my colleagues with the alarm.
